My mother made the best mustard pickles in a crock like this. It’s got one lid to cover the crock and another that fits inside to weigh down the pickles to be sure they’re covered with brine. Of course this crock can be used for fermentation of all sorts of yummy goods…to transform cabbage into sauerkraut, to pickle other vegetables, and to cure olives. 8″ tall and 8″ in diameter, this pot holds approx. 1.25 gallons or just under 5 liters.
