Highlights of Saltbox Pottery
stoneware:
All of our pottery is hand thrown on a wheel and fired to cone 10, about 2,300 degrees. Using stoneware clay, we produce functional, practical and traditional shapes and strive to make each pot as useful as it is beautiful. Of course, our pottery is completely lead-free, oven and microwave proof and dishwasher safe. It has all of the benefits of modern technology while evoking a simpler time.
Potter Tracy Adams Wilson began making pottery on the wheel at the age of 14. She studied her craft through high school and college, where she obtained a degree in Fine Arts, specializing in ceramics from Alfred University in New York. Tracy opened her Woolwich, Maine studio/gallery in 1995 after working for another potter for many years. Since then, her primary goal has been to create and market functional stoneware pottery emphasizing traditional shapes and colors, while spending time with her young family....
